Brooklyn Pottery Class Update: July 6&7th
Despite the summer heat, last weekend at our Brooklyn Pottery Studio was bursting with creativity and fun! We kicked things off with an exhilarating Friday Pottery Happy Hour, followed by two dynamic hand-building classes on Saturday and Sunday. The energy was contagious as participants unleashed their imaginations, crafting unique pieces such as a deep pasta plate, a set of four charming oyster plates, a quirky triangle rice plate, an adorable mushroom-shaped plate, and a beautifully wrinkled plate.
The highlight was seeing everyone get inspired by our vibrant underglaze transfers, which they used to decorate their creations with stunning designs. The studio was alive with joy, laughter, and the delightful chatter of new friends bonding over clay and creativity. Happy July! Hope everyone is having a good summer so far. We have some ceramic pieces came out of kiln this morning and cannot wait to share with you! In June, our hand-building ceramic workshops showcased a diverse array of student pottery pieces. I've been having a blast experimenting with different class sizes and starting times. I've discovered that small pottery classes with just 10 to 12 people are a joy to manage. I much prefer having two classes a day with 10 students each instead of one class with 20 students!
This past weekend was wonderful—we had two classes with fewer than 10 people each. It was such a delight to be able to give everyone the attention they deserved. Seeing everyone's ceramic work turn out so well was the best feeling ever as an instructor. I can't wait to see the results!
